OTCF are pleased to announce another local athlete and Lincsquad member Luke Mathews has joined the Race Team.

For those of you who don’t know me; I am Luke Mathews, 28 years old and currently live near the beautiful town of Gainsborough!!! My full time job is a Senior Custody Officer at Lincoln police station and I competed in my first triathlon in 2011, so I am still relatively new to the Triathlon world. My inspiration began when I happened to be in the right place at the right time to watch the London triathlon 2010. I thought ‘that looks like a lot of fun’..little did I release the fun came with a lot of other emotions!! I think it’s fair to say I have the bug and I have never felt more satisfaction than the feeling of training hard and reaching your goals. There is always so much room for improvement in this sport and I thrive on pushing myself to be the best I can be. I can only hope I achieve some of the incredible successes the other OTCF race team members have. My long term goal is to represent Team GB for my age group in world championship and this year’s main goal is to complete my first ever Ironman (Bolton 2013) in a respectable time!!
